Three suspected drug dealers were charged and $14,000 in narcotics were seized during a Frood Road raid on Thursday, Sudbury police say.

A joint investigation between the city's drug enforcement unit and the provincial guns and gangs enforcement team began this summer, Greater Sudbury Police Service said in a news release Friday.

Shortly before 6 a.m. Oct. 10, detectives assisted by the emergency response unit searched a home in the Donovan area of town.

"Two people from Greater Sudbury, a 27-year-old woman and a 47-year-old man, and a 26-year-old man from southern Ontario were arrested for drug charges at the residence," police said.

"Detectives conducted a search of the residence and located approximately 43 grams of cocaine, 81 grams of crack cocaine, 13 grams of fentanyl, 13 oxycodone pills, and approximately $1,800 in cash. The estimated street value of the seized drugs is approximately $14,000."

The three suspects have each been charged with drug trafficking and possessing property obtained by crime.

The two suspects in their 20s attended bail court Oct. 10 while the Greater Sudbury man was released.

He is scheduled to appear in court Nov. 6.
