SUDBURY -- Ontario Provincial Police in North Bay have charged three people with trafficking, among other charges, following a RIDE check in the city Aug. 29.
The vehicle approached the spot check around 2 a.m. on the bypass in North Bay.
"Officers conducted a search of the vehicle and found drugs suspected to be fentanyl, cocaine, cannabis and Xanax," police said in a news release Thursday. "Officers also located Glock 17 Replica Pistol and shot gun shells."
As a result of police investigation three men, ages 22, 23 and 24, all from North Bay, were arrested and charged with trafficking. The 24-year-old was also charged with possession of a prohibited weapon and obstructing a peace officer.
The 22-year-old was charged with failing to comply with a release order and an undertaking.
The trio were remanded into custody and were scheduled for court in North Bay on Thursday.
