Emergency crews were called to a wooded area in the northern Ontario community of Kapuskasing on Tuesday after a body was found, police say

Paramedics and police responded to the 911 call off Golf Avenue, north of Highway 11, just before 1:30 p.m. April 9, Ontario Provincial Police said in a news release.

"At this time, no foul play is suspected and there is no threat to public safety," OPP said.

"The Office of the Chief Coroner for Ontario - Ontario Forensic Pathology Service is now also assisting with this investigation and a post-mortem examination is scheduled at a later date in Sudbury."

Officers cleared the scene of what they are calling a "sudden death" around 7 p.m., but the investigation is continuing with the help of the forensic identification service and James Bay crime unit.
