Sudbury teen charged with stunt driving on Hwy 69

A local teen driver was travelling more than 60km/h over the speed limit on Highway 69 south of Greater Sudbury, police say.

“(On) May 19, 2024, Nipissing West OPP (Ontario Provincial Police) stopped a vehicle traveling 163km/h in a posted 100 km/h zone on Highway 69, south of Sudbury,” provincial police said on social media.

As a result of the traffic stop a 17-year-old driver from Sudbury, Ont., has been charged with stunt driving.

In addition to the charge the accused also received 30-day driver’s licence suspension and the vehicle involved was impounded for 14 days.

None of the allegations has been proven in court.

“Slow down,” said police.

“(And) drive safe.”

Only days before another Sudbury driver was stopped for stunt driving in the same area.
