A landmark in Minnow Lake, Grace United Church, is being demolished Tuesday, July 30.
The building was damaged beyond repair by a fire that began after it was struck by lightning last Wednesday.
Because it was deemed unsafe, it had to come down immediately.
Reverend Erin Todd says it’s a sad day and hard to watch the walls of the historic church being torn down.
She says the congregation is supporting each other and is looking for a temporary place to worship.
There are plans to rebuild, although a site hasn’t been determined, and Todd says it will be somewhere in Minnow Lake.
