"An officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop on Elgin Street at St. Anne Road as the vehicle was being driven without any licence plates," police said in a news release Thursday.

"The driver fled on the motor vehicle, jumping the curb onto the sidewalk where pedestrians were walking. The driver then drove the wrong way down a one-way street at a high rate of speed."

Police said they were releasing the photo because they "have exhausted all other investigative avenues to identify the driver."

Anyone with information about the identity of the driver is asked to contact police at 705-675-9171 or Crime Stoppers at 705-222-8477.
