Sudbury police say drug trafficking suspect had a Taser, baton

Police in Greater Sudbury arrested a suspect awaiting trial on drug trafficking on Monday and charged him with new drug trafficking offences.
In addition to about $10,000 in cocaine and fentanyl, the 36-year-old was also carrying a stun gun and a collapsible baton.
The suspect was on a release order on drug charges when he was arrested for breaching release conditions, police said in a news release Monday.
“Upon arresting the individual, officers conducted a search and located approximately 50 grams of cocaine, 58 grams of fentanyl, a conducted energy weapon, a collapsible baton, and approximately $410 in cash,” the release said.
“The estimated street value of the drugs seized is approximately $10,000.”
He has been charged with drug trafficking offences, two counts of weapons possession, possession of property obtained by crime, breaching his release conditions and two counts of possessing weapons while he was prohibited.
He will be in bail court today, police said.
