SUDBURY – There was some heavy police presence in the New Sudbury neighbourhood Thursday afternoon as officers investigated a weapons complaint involving a firearm.

Police officers set up a containment area outside a house around Madison Avenue and Christina Drive.

People were told to stay inside their homes and avoid the area as the police tactical unit arrived to clear the house in question

It happened around 12:30 p.m. and shortly after 1 p.m., a man exited the residence and was taken into police custody without incident.

He remains in custody and the investigation is ongoing.
