Sudbury police arrest armed robbery suspect at Wahnapitae home
A youth accused of robbing a Lasalle Boulevard store last week was arrested at a home in the Greater Sudbury community of Wahnapitae on Wednesday afternoon, police say.
Officers were dispatched to the house on Beverley Street shortly before noon April 10, Sudbury police said in a news release Thursday.
The suspect barricaded himself inside the home and police made several attempts to communicate with him, but he would not respond.
Members of the emergency response unit set up a containment of the residence when they arrived around 12:35 p.m.
Officers entered the home at 1:40 p.m. after receiving a warrant to enter and arrest the suspect.
He was taken into custody without incident about 40 minutes later.
