The contentious issue of the plan to build a new arena and casino in Sudbury’s east end, will allow public input this month on the re-zoning applications to the City of Greater Sudbury.
The city’s Planning Committee will hold two public hearings on the issue, one on January 22nd at 4:30 pm in the Council Chamber of Tom Davies Square, and another at a later date.
Residents can make public comments on the request for re-zoning for the project on the north side of the Kingsway, northwest of Levesque Street.
An area of just under 12 hectares of land has been submitted for consideration for the new arena facility and a parcel of about 7 additional hectares of land for the proposed Gateway Casino development.
Submissions may also be sent via email or regular mail prior to the public hearing, which will also be livestreamed through the city’s website.
