Sudbury did miss some opportunities early in the game – however, a goal in the final minutes of the first half started the momentum.
Through the contest on June 1, the Cyclones’ Timi Aliu connected with the opposing box in the 45th minute to finish the first half with a 1-0 lead.
In the second half, Douvoy Bromfield scored off a loose ball in the box in 51st minute and Cedric Devos capped Sudbury’s scoring in the 61st minute with a penalty kick.
Pickering’s Warren Chambers did put the visiting team on the scoreboard in the 70th minute of play with the only point Sudbury goalkeeper Lucas Cidada allowed.
With Saturday’s win, the Cyclones improved to 3-1-1 with 10 points, to sit at the top of the Northeast Division of League2 Ontario squads in a tie with both Alliance United (3-1-1) and Masters FA (3-0-1).
