SUDBURY – Each year, the last Friday of October is the launch of the 'Poppy Campaign' across the Canada.

This year, Sudbury marked the day with a massive Remembrance Day flag raising ceremony on Falconbridge Road.

RufDiamond LTD and Felix Lopes LTD paired up for the project.

"At last light today we're going to be raising the flag with the lest we forget because we think it's critically important that the public know that we can never forget about our veterans past and currently serving," said Daryl Adams, RufDiamond LTD.

"We’ve been losing a lot of our, obviously, our First World War veterans and now we're down to a minimal amount of World War II veterans. So this is a great way to show our young kids and keep the tradition going… and its probably going to be the biggest flag we're going to see across Canada with 'Lest We Forget' on it," said Dan Draper, Un Nato Veterans of Canada.

Officials with RufDiamond and Felix Lopes LTD say the goal of this initiative is to bring awareness to the Poppy Campaign and to honour those who serve.
