SUDBURY -- A Beer Store location in Sudbury has been closed following a connected case of COVID-19.
According to a news release on Saturday evening, a security guard at the location on Lorne Street has tested positive for the virus.
"As the security guard receives care, we are sending our positive thoughts and best wishes," said the release. "All potentially affected employees will either symptom monitor or self-isolate based on circumstances, as a precautionary measure."
The security guard last worked on Jan. 20. As a result, the store has now been closed while staff do a deep cleaning.
"The Beer Store has implemented mandatory employee face coverings in all our stores, in addition to robust cleaning and public distancing protocols already in place," said the release. "As per this protocol, all Beer Store employees working at this location were wearing face coverings."
The store will remain closed while public health officials conduct contact tracing. There is no confirmed date of reopening.
