Soo Greyhounds head to Game 7 in playoff series against Saginaw
Soo Greyhounds re-tie the OHL playoff series against Saginaw Spirit in a shutout win on home ice Sunday night, forcing Game 7.
Goaltender Charlie Schenkel earned his second shutout of the series, stopping 24 shots from the Spirit.
The Greyhounds racked up five goals, with two from Chicago Balckhawks prospect Gavin Hayes and one each from Jack Back, Jacob Frasca and Marco Mignosa.
Nolan Lalonde made 29 saves for the Spirit.
"A sold-out Sunday night crowd of 4,918 packed the GFL Memorial Gardens for this matchup," said Josh Sweetland, of the Ontario Hockey League.
Game 7 is in Saginaw on Tuesday.
The winner will face the London Knights, who swept their opponents in the first two playoff rounds, in the western conference championship.
