SUDBURY -- Environment Canada has released a special weather statement Thursday for many areas across Northeastern Ontario as some messy conditions make their way into the region.
Communities expected to be affected are:
- Greater Sudbury and vicinity
- Kapuskasing – Hearst
- Manitoulin – Blind River – Killarney
- North Bay - Nipissing
Snow and ice pellets are expected to begin Saturday afternoon and to last into Sunday evening.
It is uncertain at this time about the amount of accumulation the region may receive, but the estimated amount is 15 cm.
This weather will impact travel conditions, and officials say drivers to be extra cautious when out on the roads.
