SUDBURY -- Sudbury’s Cambrian College attracts students for skilled trades.
Even with last week’s announcement by the province that it’s investing $75-million in exposing students to skilled trade careers, Cambrian College students are already praising the benefits of programs at the school.
22-year-old Celine Musico is in the heavy equipment trucking coach program, something she’s been interested in doing since she was a child.
“My father is a truck driver for William Day, and he came home with a transport one day and I was mesmerized from day one, “said Musico. “I was actually just a toddler when he came home with a transport. ”
The province says there's a significant labour shortage in the trades sector, and employees at Cambrian College say they are trying to fill that gap in northern Ontario by implementing more programs.
