SUDBURY -- Environment Canada has issued an extreme cold warning for several communities in northeastern Ontario Wednesday including:
- Cochrane
- Iroquois Falls
- Kapuskasing- Hearst – Smooth Rock Falls
- Little Abitibi - Kesagami Lake
- Manitouwadge - Hornepayne
- Timmins
Temperatures will drop below - 40 C with the wind chill.
Conditions will improve Wednesday afternoon, but redevelop overnight into Thursday.
Frostbite on exposed skin is possible within minutes during these conditions, so bundle up.
Cold related health symptoms include:
- Shortness of breath
- Chest pain
- Muscle pain and weakness
- Numbness and colour change in fingers and toes
