Serious collision on Municipal Road 15 in Sudbury Saturday night

Sudbury police say they responded to a serious collision on Municipal Road 15 Saturday night, which closed the road for several hours.
Sudbury police said, in a tweet, they responded to a serious motor vehicle collision on Municipal Road 15 between the Greater Sudbury communities of Blezard Valley and Chelmsford shortly after 9 p.m. Saturday.
The road remained closed until almost 2:30 a.m. Sunday morning, however detours were available via Montee Principale and St. Laurent Street for westbound traffic and Montee Principale and Seguin Street for eastbound traffic.
Staff Sergeant Sherry Young, with the Greater Sudbury Police Service, told CTV News the two vehicle collision is still under investigation and no charges have been laid at this time.
Police said one person was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
“Alcohol is not believed to be a factor at this time,” police said, in a tweet.

Officials said weather may have been a factor in the crash.
