The City of Sault Ste. Marie is advising people to stay off the roads Monday, February 25 due to hazardous conditions created by the latest winter storm.

All City facilities will be closed for the day, including: the civic centre, city libraries, city landfill, city arenas, and all recreational facilities, such as the seniors centre, Ermatinger Clergue National Historic Site, and city pools.

All programming will be closed at the arenas and the Northern Community Centre.

City transit is cancelled and will not be running.

Garbage collectionand recycling scheduled for Monday will be cancelled and next week's collection shall allow for a four bag limit for the routes affected.

The parking by-law that prohibits parking on city streets between midnight and 6 am remains in effect, however, drivers are also urged to not park on city streets during the day while there is a winter storm happening.
