"I was shocked with the fact we seized those four types of drugs and the quantity that were seized."
When asked if the five arrested were considered the 'drug kingpins' of Sault Ste. Marie, the police answered yes. Officers call it a significant blow to the local drug trade.
"It will definitely have an impact of the drug sub culture," said Staff Sergeant Jody Greco, Sault Ste. Marie Police Service.
"The drug users are going to have a harder time I think (of) finding the drug of choice."
On Thursday, police executed a warrant at a house on Third Line East; where they seized two handguns, over 200 rounds of related ammunition, more than $20,000 in cash, and related drug paraphernalia
"It's, as we said, the most significant drug seizure in Sault Ste. Marie, so that is very concerning," Keetch said.
Police said the accused were arrested without incident.
