Sault police arrest suspect wanted in March break-in

Police in Sault Ste. Marie made an arrest Monday in a break, enter, theft and mischief case that took place March 31.

The incident took place at a business on Trunk Road when police were alerted by an alarm.

“Upon arrival, officers noticed property was damaged in a break and enter,” police said in a news release Tuesday.

“An investigation revealed the accused had broken into the business and stolen several items. A warrant was obtained for their arrest.”

Police spotted the 34-year-old suspect walking along Wellington Street East on Monday and made the arrest.

Charges include two counts of violating probation, break and enter, theft under $5,000 and theft under $5,000.

The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 19.
