OPP looking for clues in fatal Hwy. 11 crash
Provincial police in northern Ontario are asking for the public's help as they investigate a fatal two-vehicle crash earlier this month.
The collision happened around 2 p.m. on Highway 11, just north of the Kenogami Bridge, on Aug. 14, Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) said in a social media post on Thursday.
The highway was closed until after midnight that evening, according to the Ministry of Transportation’s 511 Traveller Information Service.
The Kenogami Bride Inn had stepped up to allow local residents to park at their establishment and be picked up by boat while the highway was closed.
Police have not released any details on the cause of the crash, the number of victims, the identity of those deceased or if there were any other injuries.
Kirkland Lake OPP said the investigation is ongoing.
“As part of the investigation into this occurrence (a) white cube van … has been identified as a potential witness,” said police.
