SAULT STE. MARIE -- Sault Area Hospital set to utilize COVID-19 screening tents.
The heated tents will be activated on Tuesday, April 6.
As part of the Sault Area Hospital’s plan for COVID-19, the facility has set up two screening tents outside of the emergency room entrance.
All patients going to the emergency room will have to be screened in a tent before entering the hospital.
Wendy Hansson is the president of the Sault Area Hospital.
"We have created already at this time over 100 in-patient care spaces and are in an immediate state of readiness should we anticipate or expect a surge in demand in the community starting today," said Hannsson in a video.
The hospital is expected to give more details on this and other efforts during a video conference Monday afternoon.
