Update:

Timmins police officials are calling it a brazen act and one that’s uncommon in that city.  They are investigating a robbery at an A&W restaurant on Algonquin Boulevard East.

They say the burglary happened sometime between 10 pm Sunday night and early Monday morning.  

Police say the thief or thieves gained access through the drive-through window and stole some money. 

They say they’re hoping to determine soon who’s responsible for the crime as they have acquired some surveillance video from the area.  

“A quantity of cash was taken from the scene.  We’re still determining that exact amount, but nonetheless this is an open investigation.  The persons responsible breached the side window of the building to gain entry.” said Marc Depatie, of Timmins Police Service.

Police say if anyone has any information about this incident to call them or Crime Stoppers.

Timmins police are investigating a break in at a local fast food restaurant.

Marc Depatie of Timmins Police Service says someone gained access to the building through a wall of the A&W on Algonquin Boulevard.

CTV News Northern Ontario’s Lydia Chubak was at the scene and says it appears there is damage to the drive-thru window of establishment.
