Retired Sudbury woman celebrates $100K lotto win

Deborah Aney of Sudbury won $100,000 in the Jan. 9 Merry Millions draw.
"This is my first major win," Aney is quoted as saying in a news release Monday from the Ontario Lottery & Gaming Corp.
"I was out shopping when I decided to check my ticket and then the machine froze. I said to the clerk, 'Did I do something wrong?' and she said, 'You won big!'"
The 73-year-old retiree couldn't believe it.
"I was stunned,” Aney said.
“Everyone in the store was so happy for me. I went home and told my husband immediately."
She said she plans to travel to visit family, buy a new phone and will think about how to spend the rest of her winnings.
The winning ticket was purchased at CNIB Kiosk in Walmart on Long Lake Road in Sudbury.
