Power has been restore to customers in Greater Sudbury
Power has been restored to approximately 6,200 customers who were without electricity in Greater Sudbury for part of Sunday afternoon.
The outage affected the downtown and Minnow Lake communities along with the Wembley area.
“Power has been restored to all affected customers,” said Greater Sudbury Utilities (GSU) spokesperson Claude Sharma, in an email to CTV News at shortly after 3 p.m.
“There was an electrical issue at a downtown substation that has been resolved.”
GSU wished happy Thanksgiving to those celebrating on 'X' formerly Twitter following the power outage.
"Enjoy your meals, company, NASCAR, NFL, video games, fans, you name it," GSU said.
The electrical provider was reminding motors to be cautious as traffic signals may not function during power outages.
“We are aware your meal prep is delayed and apologize for the inconvenience,” said GSU in a tweet, earlier in the afternoon.
“Our hardworking team is doing everything it can to restore power as quickly as possible.”
