SUDBURY -- The Ontario Provincial Police in Moosonee pulled four adults out of the Moose River on Thursday evening, after responding to a marine distress call.
"Officers responded to the scene and rescued all four adults, three of whom were not wearing life-jackets and were clinging to the capsized vessel in an effort to stay afloat," police said in a news release Friday.
Officers took the adults to paramedics in Moose Factory, where they were then treated by paramedics and taken to hospital.
"The Ontario Provincial Police is reminding the public to make safety a priority and always wear an approved personal flotation device or life-jacket, regardless of how strong of a swimmer you are," police said.
"Conditions can change so quickly on (the water) that could easily put you in a dangerous life-threatening situation."
