Update:
Police have identified the victim in Sunday's two-vehicle collision on Highway 17 between Sudbury and North Bay as 53-year-old Carole Mantha of North Bay.
Mantha was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say the head-on collision occured after 3 pm just west of Kukagami Lake Road in the Wahnapitae-Markstay area.
A second driver was sent to hospital with serious injuries.
Police are appealing to the public for information on the incident.

It was a tragic day on Highway 17 between North Bay and Sudbury over the weekend, as one person died and another was seriously injured in a head-on crash.
It happened Sunday afternoon between Wahanapitae and Markstay, just east of Sudbury, and the highway was shut down for several hours.
Now, the OPP are looking for some help from the public in their investigation.
"If you either witness the collision, or any driving behavior in and around the time of the collision at that location, involving either a white car or a black car. Don't want the public fixed on, as it that make or that model, just if you saw a black car or white car and the driving behavior was something police should be made aware of, please don't hesitate to contact Sudbury OPP, or your local police department, or if you want to remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers. Any assistance is extremely important and very much appreciated ", said Constable Carmel McDonald of the Sudbury OPP.
One of the drivers died at the scene while the other was transported to hospital with serious injuries.
