Police complete search after human remains found in Chelmsford
A ground search has been completed in the Greater Sudbury community of Chelmsford, where human remains were discovered April 28.
More remains were discovered in the wooded area west of Marion Street, and police believe they belong to the same person, Greater Sudbury Police said in a news release Wednesday.
“Officers thoroughly searched a 100-foot radius around where the original skeletal remains were found,” the release said.
“Officers have concluded the ground search in the area and are clear of the scene.”
Sudbury detectives are working with the coroner’s office, a forensic anthropologist, the Centre of Forensic Science “to determine the identity of the individual, the cause of death and the length of time the remains were in the wooded area,” police said.
“An update will be provided once more information is available.”
