SUDBURY -- Ontario Provincial Police say they have arrested two people in their 20s after a crime spree that started in North Bay and ended in Cochrane.
Around 2:15 a.m. on June 6, a vehicle was pulled over by North Bay OPP after blowing past a spot check on the Highway 17 bypass.
During an attempt to arrest the driver, they sped away from officers.
The same two suspects in the car were located later that night in Cochrane breaking into a house on Fifteenth Avenue.
Officers from the James Bay detachment arrested the pair from Orillia and reportedly found they had more than $19,000 in cocaine.
They both face a list of charges and have been remanded.
The 21-year-old is scheduled to appear in court June 12 to answer to the following charges:
- Break, Enter a Dwelling House with Intent to Commit Indictable Offence
- Obstruct Peace Officer
- Failure to Comply with Release Order - Other Than to Attend Court
- Two counts of Fail to Comply with Probation Order
- Assault Peace Officer
- Possession of a Schedule III Substance
- Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance of the Purpose of Trafficking
The 20-year-old is scheduled to appear in court June 23 to answer to the following charges:
- Fail to Stop for Police
- Fail to Identify Self
- Flight From Peace Officer
- Dangerous Operation
- Three counts of Failure to Comply with Release Order - Other Than to Attend Court
- Break, Enter a Dwelling House with Intent to Commit Indictable Offence
- Obstruct Peace Officer
