Pedestrian has life-threatening injuries after being struck by vehicle in the Sault

A pedestrian was hit by a vehicle late Thursday evening in Sault Ste. Marie, sending them to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The collision occurred around 11:50 p.m. on Great Northern Road, Sault police said Friday in a news release.

“A pedestrian attempting to cross Great Northern Road was struck by a motor vehicle and has sustained life-threatening physical injuries,” police said.

“They were transported to hospital. The driver of the vehicle did not sustain physical injuries. Police are not releasing the identities of those involved.”

While not clarifying whether charges are pending in the case police did say that its traffic services unit “is continuing its investigation and is not seeking additional information at this time.”
