The Ontario Provincial Police are telling residents in Bonfield, east of North Bay, to keep doors locked and be vigilant after serious assault late Saturday night.
OPP says officers were called to a residence on Church Street at around 11:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 21.
Police say that when they arrived, they found a person with life-threatening injuries inside the residence.
That person is reportedly now in stable condition at the hospital.
Anyone with information about this incident or that saw anything suspicious Saturday night or Sunday morning is asked to call police or Crime Stoppers.
