The Office of the Ontario Fire Marshal has wrapped its investigation into a major fire in downtown Elliot Lake last summer.

According to the Ministry of the Solicitor General, ‘the investigation into the fire on Charles Walk is complete and after careful analysis, investigators classified this as a fire with an undetermined cause.’

At the time of the fire, the city’s fire chief pegged the damaged to be in the millions. The owner still has yet to rebuild and the property remains an empty lot.

Meanwhile, two of the four affected businesses from a fire on Fox Drive, about a month ago, have since re-located.

Fire officials in the city tell CTV News, the cause of that fire is still under investigation.
