One taken to hospital after vehicle collided with moose in Sudbury

One person was taken to hospital after a vehicle collided with a moose on MR80 in Greater Sudbury on Saturday evening.

Few details are known at this time about the crash, however, paramedics did take one person to hospital following the incident.

Greater Sudbury deputy fire chief Jesse Oshell told CTVNewsNorthernOntario.ca, in a short message, that Greater Sudbury Fire Services received the request for assistance at about 8:50 p.m. on Oct. 5.

“Fire attended and assisted with removing person(s) from the vehicle,” said Oshell.

“EMS transported one patient.”

The deputy fire chief said the incident occurred just past Tracks and Wheel on MR80 and police were managing the scene when firefighters arrived.

Officials have not released any details on the cause of the crash, the extent of any injuries or the identities of those involved.

CTV News has contacted the Greater Sudbury Police Service for more information on the incident but has not yet received a response.
