Northern Ont. woman more than $200K richer after second prize Lotto Max win
A northern Ontario woman who has been playing the lottery “now and then” for 20 years is celebrating a big Lotto Max win.
Tracey Liebenow of Iroquois Falls won $212,121 in the Aug. 6 draw, Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) said in a news release Thursday.

She told OLG that she enjoys playing both Lotto Max and Lottario and sometimes she chooses her own numbers and occasionally uses the quick pick feature.
A spontaneous decision
Liebenow who works in the healthcare field said it was a spontaneous decision to pick up a lottery ticket led to her win.
"My husband and I were on our way back from a concert when I decided to check my tickets,” Tracey," she is quoted as saying in the news release.
“I scanned my ticket and said, ‘Oh wow! I won $212!’ I took a second look, but didn’t have my glasses on, so I asked my husband to confirm the amount.”
According to Liebenow, her husband looked down at her phone and said, “Let’s not overreact until we get home.”
Once home, the couple scanned her ticket again to be sure.
“When it was confirmed how much I had won, we went out to the porch and celebrated together,” the winner said.
“We told our family, and they were so happy for us.”
Liebenow said her kids told the pair to enjoy the win for themselves.
Liebenow said she plans to use her windfall to pay off her house and attend more concerts.
“Winning feels awesome and surreal! I hope more people get to experience this winning feeling,” she said.
The winning ticket was purchased at the Shell on Lindsay Street in Lindsay, Ont.
Last week, OLG announced the winner of the $70 million Lotto Max jackpot bought their ticket in the Timiskaming-Cochrane area of northeastern Ontario and that a Sudbury couple won more than $100,000 with Lotto 6/49 using their ‘special’ numbers.
