Northern Ont. police seize weapons, $200K in drugs, Toronto pair charged

Three people, including two from Toronto, have been arrested in northern Ontario and Ontario Provincial Police have seized a haul of drugs, weapons and other items.

Armed with search warrants, police raided apartments on Mississauga Avenue and an apartment on Elizabeth Walk on Thursday and uncovered a host of items related to the drug trade.

About $200,000 in suspected illegal drugs were seized, including 78 grams of cocaine, 457 grams of meth and 175 grams of fentanyl.

Also seized were a machete, nun chucks, cutting agents, digital scales, dime bags, cash, numerous laptops and seven cellphones.

A 38-year-old from Elliot Lake was charged with trafficking offences and unauthorized possession of a weapon. A 29-year-old from Toronto was also charged with trafficking.

The accused persons are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on July 11.

And a 39-year-old from Toronto is charged with numerous trafficking offences, possession of property obtained by crime, mischief/interfering with the law use, enjoyment or operation of property.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice Bail Court in Blind River at some point Thursday.
