Northern Ont. police seize drugs, cash and an air gun, pair charged

Ontario Provincial Police in West Nipissing have charged two people with drug and other offences following a recent operation at a residence on King Street in the community.

“A search of the residence led to the seizure of drug paraphernalia, Canadian and U.S. currency, digital scales, air gun and drugs suspected to be fentanyl, methamphetamine, opioid and cocaine,” police said in a news release about the June 5 incident.

Charged are a 42-year-old from West Nipissing and a 32-year-old from Garden Village Nipissing First Nation. Offences include three counts of trafficking and possession of property obtained by crime more than $5,000.

Both accused were released and are scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on Aug. 3 in North Bay.
