Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a northern Ontario man following a dispute between neighbours in Thessalon, Ont., last week.

At about 4:30 p.m. on April 11, officers were called to a residence on Federation Street.

“The complainant reported a neighbour attended their property and threatened to kill them with a tire iron in hand,” said police in a news release.

Officers later learned that the person was on probation with release conditions.

As a result of the incident, a 38-year-old local man has been charged with assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, uttering threats and failing to comply with a probation order.

The accused was held pending a bail hearing on Friday.

None of the accusations has been proven in court.
