NORTH BAY -- The 4,000 people who live along Trout Lake now have access to delivery straight to their docks, by Seadoo.
Average Joes Restaurant owner, Jim Bruce, said the restaurant is trying to keep up, despite COVID-19.
"Before the patio was open, we realized that in order to stay in the market the way it is, we would have to go to take-out and delivery,” said Bruce.
The inspiration came from seeing that Turtle Jacks in Parry sound has done delivery on Seadoos, and he wanted to find a way to offer something unique to his customers.
Bruce who is also a part-owner of the Powassan Voodoos, said he reached out to a few of the hockey players to see if they would be interested in doing this as a summer job.
The players have say this has been a fantastic summer job, and that they're so happy Bruce reached out to them.
"I took it in a heartbeat, because it's something special in my opinion," said Thomas Yachmenev, one of the Seadoo drivers.
Jacob Peterson-Galema said that this is the best summer job he could have asked for.
"It’s been great, it’s fun and whenever you get the opportunity to drive a Seadoo for money it’s pretty unique and amazing."
