A 31-year-old suspended driver was arrested June 29 on Highway 11 after reportedly taking a vehicle without consent.

North Bay Ontario Provincial Police were called around 2 a.m. about a southbound motorist in the missing vehicle.

“Approximately half hour later police located the subject vehicle on Highway 11 and safely conducted a tandem traffic stop,” police said in a news release Wednesday.

“Police arrested the driver and further investigation resulted in several charges.”

The suspect, who is from London, Ont., has been charged with taking a vehicle without consent, violating a probation order, driving with an open container of alcohol, driving while suspended and being a novice driver with a blood/alcohol level above zero.

The accused is scheduled to appear in North Bay court on July 16.
