Elliot Lake man found dead near Hwy. 400

Ontario Provincial Police are investigating the sudden death of an Elliot Lake man whose body was found in a grassy area off Highway 400 in Barrie on June 28.

Foul play is not suspected.

Aurora OPP responded at 4:30 p.m. on June 28 to “a report of a male found without vital signs in a grassy area near the Highway 400 southbound off-ramp to Bayfield Street in Barrie,” police said in a news release Thursday.

“A 41-year-old male from Elliot Lake was pronounced deceased at the scene. The OPP highway safety division crime prevention and investigations unit investigated, and there were no signs of foul play, and the death is deemed not suspicious.”
