SUDBURY -- A North Bay man is facing several charges after police say he allegedly broke into a house looking for his ex and damaged a fence while driving away drunk, police said in a news release Wednesday morning.
Police said shortly after 2 a.m. on Monday, a 44-year-old man forced his way into a home on Karla Drive trying to find a woman he was previously in a relationship with. After finding she was not there, he drove away damaging a fence as he left.
Officers found and arrested the accused on Lakeshore Drive and determined he was impaired by alcohol.
He is now charged with:
- Impaired operation of a motor vehicle
- Driving a motor vehicle with over 80 mgs
- Forcible entry
- Breach of recognizance
- Fail to stop for a collision
He was released on bail and is scheduled to appear back in court on Nov. 24.
Police are withholding his name to protect the victim.
