North Bay police arrested a friendly and furry fugitive last week.

In a light-hearted Facebook post, police said they responded to a "ruff call."

"An individual reported that their dog had hopped the fence and ran off down Lakeshore Drive," the post said.

"Three of our officers were already in the area, having just finished a response to another call."

They found the runaway dog, who happily hopped into their cruiser.

"Luckily, this tail has a happy ending," the post said.

"Our officers quickly tracked down the furry fugitive and safely returned the very friendly pup to its owner."
