North Bay police arrest suspected drug dealer who eluded them three times, $75K in drugs seized
A Hamilton man who escaped arrest multiple times in May and June has been caught in North Bay and now faces several charges.
The 41-year-old suspect was first spotted in North Bay on May 27 driving a vehicle when he was prohibited from driving.
On June 2, police were called to a Lakeshore Drive parking lot around 5 a.m. for a possible impaired driver, who turned out to be the same person.
“While officers were speaking to the accused, he drove off at a high rate of speed,” North Bay police said in a news release Monday.
And June 9 just after midnight, police spotted a suspicious vehicle on Fourth Avenue West and began following the vehicle.
“The vehicle began driving at a high rate of speed, attempting to evade police,” police said.
“Another officer attended the area and a traffic stop was attempted, at which time the two male occupants jumped out and fled the scene on foot.”
While the suspects fled, police found $75,000 in drugs inside the vehicle and seized the 2024 Ford Bronco the suspects had been driving in.
Police identified one of the suspects and arrested him June 11 on warrants for all three incidents.
Drugs seized include 134.7 grams of cocaine, 140.7 grams of fentanyl, 133.3 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 101 methamphetamine tablets, 102 hydromorphone pills and 135 codeine pills.
Police also found a digital scale, two cellphones, packaging materials and $420 in cash.
A Hamilton man was arrested on June 11 and faces numerous charges as a result of three separate incidents in North Bay throughout May and June.
