North Bay man charged with impaired driving of boat
A 40-year-old North Bay man is charged with impaired driving of a boat during a police marine patrol on Saturday.
The snowmobile, ATV, vessel enforcement team was patrolling Trout Lake in North Bay around 12:30 p.m. July 20 when the lone operator of one vessel was charged, Ontario Provincial Police said in a news release.

The suspect is accused of having a blood alcohol level of 80 or more.

"Similar laws govern drinking and driving also apply to boating and operators who consume any type of alcoholic beverage while operating may face stiff fines, license suspension or jail time for violating them," Leaders in Law said on its website.
"Marine police can conduct spot checks along any Canadian waterway and request breathalyzer tests from anyone aboard."
His driver's licence has been suspended for 90 days as a result.
He is scheduled to appear in court Aug. 27.
"The OPP remind motorists to report impaired drivers," OPP said.
"Should you observe a suspected impaired driver, please dial 911 or contact the Ontario Provincial Police at 1-888-310-1122."
