Nearly $10K Sudbury Wolves 50-50 prize remains unclaimed
Someone who bought a Sudbury Wolves 50-50 ticket last month is sitting on a nearly $10,000 prize.
The winner of the Sept. 27 'Play it Forward Mega Draw' has not come forward, Sudbury Wolves Sports and Entertainment (SWSE) said in a news release over the weekend.
Winning ticket number P-8146301 has won $9,468, the Sudbury sports organization said.
According to the rules, the winner has six months from the draw date to claim their prize.
In this case, the winner must come forward by March 27, 2025.
Michael Cullen, of SWSE, told CTVNewsNorthernOntario.ca in a phone interview the winning ticket was purchased in person at the area during the Sept. 20 Wolves exhibition game.
To collect the prize, winners must have the original winning ticket and photo identification.

Tickets for the draws can be purchased in person at games or online.
"Proceeds from the 50/50 raffle will be raised on behalf of local charitable organizations, that promote public health through physical fitness and mental health programming," SWSE said.
"The intent is to alleviate poverty by increasing access for underprivileged youth, families, and cultures."
Cullen said the 'Play it Forward' organization is the charitable arm of the SWSE group that will administer grants to local worrthy causes such as youth sports leagues, the CTV Lions Children's Christmas Telethon and activities involving Indigenous youth.

If no one comes forward, the unclaimed prize is reported to the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario and is donated to a charity if approved.
Brandan Lane won the Oct. 4 draw worth $4,232.
The next 50-50 draw is Oct. 18.
