A 74-year-old motorcycle driver was injured last week when he collided with a moose.

The man, from Kaministiquia, northwest of Thunder Bay, received non-life-threatening injuries, Schreiber Ontario Provincial Police said Monday.

The crash occurred July 12 around 2:30 p.m. near Blackbird Creek on Highway 17. The man was taken to hospital.

“The OPP encourages motorists to be mindful of wildlife along roads and highways as the moose are on the loose,” police said in a news release.
