Three people are facing numerous drug and other charges following an Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) traffic stop on Thursday.

At approximately 2 a.m., officers from the OPP’s West Parry Sound Detachment initiated a traffic stop on Highway 69 in Archipelago Township.

“As a result of further investigation, officers seized over $6,000 of suspected cocaine and fentanyl and over $10,000 in Canadian currency,” said police in a news release Friday.

The 26-year-old driver from Scarborough along with a 26-year-old passenger also from Scarborough and a 44-year-old passenger from Sudbury have all been charged with trafficking.

The driver has also been charged with stunt driving, failing to stop for police and possession of proceeds of crime over $5,000.

The passenger from Scarborough is also facing a possession of proceeds of crime charge and a failure to comply with a probation order charge.

The Sudbury passenger is also charged with possession of cocaine and three counts of failing to comply with a release order.

All of the accused were held pending a bail hearing on March 17.

None of the allegations has been proven in court.
