Moosonee OPP arrested and charged one person with carrying a machete

On Thursday, May 11 shortly before 3:00 pm members of the Moosonee Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), responded to reports of an unknown person wearing black and carrying a machete on First Street in the Town of Moosonee.

Police were able to contain the area and safely make an arrest.

As a result, a 20-year-old-person from Moosonee has been arrested and charged with:

  • Possession of weapons for dangerous purpose
  • Failure to comply with undertaking (three counts)

The accused was held for bail and scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on Monday, May 15 in Timmins.
