Sudbury assault victim struck, tied to a chair and robbed, police say

Sudbury police say they are investigating after a man was allegedly assaulted at a home on Lourdes Street early Tuesday morning.
Officers were called to a downtown area residence around 3:10 a.m., police spokesperson Kaitlyn Dunn told CTVNewsNorthernOntario.ca in an email.
"Information provided was that two individuals in a residential unit were involved in an altercation," Dunn said.
"One of the individuals struck the other multiple times. The individual tied the man to a chair and demanded money, resulting in the individual stealing the man’s wallet."
The victim sustained minor injuries in the incident, police said.
The 47-year-old male suspect fled before police arrived and officers have applied for a warrant for his arrest.
The victim and suspect are known to each other and the investigation is continuing.
